Branch RickeyBranch Rickey was a major league baseball player who became an innovative baseball executive; he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1967. He was known for breaking the color barrier by hiring Jackie Robinson, among other accomplishments. He spent the winter of 1908-1909 curing in Saranac Lake.
