Martha RebenMartha Reben first cured at Trudeau Sanatorium in 1927. She hired local guide, Fred Rice, to take her out of the woods to convalesce, and they camped on the shores of Weller Pond. She chronicled her experience in the best-selling, “The Healing Woods,” “The Way of the Wilderness,” and “A Sharing of Joy.” She stayed in the area until her death.
