Christy MathewsonChristy Mathewson arrived in 1920 to take the cure. He was diagnosed with TB following his service in WWI. Mathewson was one of the greatest baseball pitchers of all time, and one of the famous “First Five” inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He cured at the Santanoni Apartments until a house was built for him on Park Avenue.
