Béla BartókBéla Bartók came to Saranac Lake during the summers of 1943, 1944, and 1945, ill with a form of leukemia. He is considered to be one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. He stayed at Sageman Cottage and what is now known as the Bartók Cabin.
